G’day mates! Welcome to the down under, where the hustle of a metropolitan city such as Melbourne, maintains a unique attitude in its’ own little corner of the world. It’s a big city combined with the “enjoy life” attitude found more commonly within European cities. It’s here that Ovolo group found itself drawn to this particular charm and it’s here that Ovolo has decided to share this particular charm with its guests.

Located in the Central Business District (CBD) on Little Bourke Street, and right near the famous Paris end of Collins Street, Ovolo is establishing its first international expansion with its first boutique hotel in Australia. It will host a total of 43 apartments, featuring a bevy of hip and contemporary designed studios, 1 Bedroom, 2 Bedroom & Penthouse suites. With plans for a new renovation and refurbishment, its grand opening is targeted for the latter half of 2012.

Once again the love hate relationship we have with Valentines’ Day, rears its’ red velvety head. Whether we love it or hate it, we all still have to deal with it, be it embracing the special day or making the effort of hiding from it.

We at Ovolo always welcome the chance to embrace (figuratively) those we care about, which naturally includes our guests! And to help our guests embrace they day with those ‘they’ also care about, here are Ovolo’s tips to kissing!

Tier 1 – the light, polite peck (light kiss) on the person’s cheek, that includes the simple clasping of the arms with no direct torso contact with the other person. For people you just met that you wish to impart a sense of camaraderie or friendship, and the French (see advanced tutorial for cheek air kisses).

Tier 2 – a standard kiss embrace, with full lip pressing that includes the touching of shoulders / chests that lasts for about 2-3 seconds. Linger an extra 1-2 seconds if you wish to impart a deep sense of romantic interest.

Tier 3 – Full body, lip locking contact that … lingers. A long time. (See advanced tutorial for hair tugging).

Made from unprocessed cocoa, Dark chocolate has high amounts of Antioxidants. One study found there was a significant increase in blood flow in those who consumed cocoa for six weeks. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, eating a reasonable amount of dark chocolate can possibly lower your blood pressure and decrease your risk of heart disease, with benefits for heart health being almost immediate! Sadly these benefits don’t include other processed forms of chocolates…

Doing its’ part in a world that sees extreme wealth and extreme poverty, Ovolo helps to balance things out by working with groups like Crossroads Foundation, a Hong Kong based, non-profit organization that links those with resources to those in need. In their efforts, they’re reaching out and touching places like Haiti, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Somalia, Ethiopia and other places too numerous to mention all at once. In addition, they also reach out to help those hit with unexpected disasters such as the earthquake and tsunami devastation in Japan.

On January 31, in its’ ongoing charitable focus, Ovolo is donating sofas, refrigerators, microwaves, DVD players, kitchen appliances, tables, chairs and numerous other items, in the hopes to contribute what it can to this worthy cause.
